The Story

Mary Blake's path into medicine began with a loss. She was five years old when her father died of cancer — and from that grief came a question she asked her mother again and again: what is this disease, and why couldn't science save him? That question became a lifelong fascination with how the body defends itself against disease, and how medicine can strengthen those defenses.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Mary has spent more than a decade inside healthcare — as a Clinical Research Associate auditing trials for patient safety and regulatory compliance, a Research Coordinator at Texas Oncology, and a medical laboratory technician at Baylor. As a CRA she traveled to medical schools, hospitals, and clinics running studies, verifying that each one protected its patients and met local and federal standards. Today she also teaches the next generation as an Adjunct Professor of Microbiology at Tarrant County College.

She holds a Master of Science in Public Health and Infectious Disease in Global Health from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Microbiology from the University of Texas at Arlington, and she is pursuing a Doctorate in Health Science — specializing in health policy — at Purdue University. Mary is a published author in SciVision Magazine and certified in Public Health through Harvard University, with experience spanning oncology, immunology, diabetes, and epidemic-causing pathogens.

The lessons that shaped her most didn't come from a textbook — they came from watching patients fall through the cracks of a complex system, and from healthcare workers stretched thin across their physical, financial, and spiritual health. That insight became her framework: an "Ecosystem of Health" in which physical well-being, financial security, and spiritual alignment work as one. She explores it every week as founder and host of the Live Well podcast.

Mary is the founder of Blake Incorporated LLC and co-founder of Trvl-Pro, a travel-wellness venture, with a doctor-formulated line of wellness products on the way. A licensed Health & Life Insurance professional, she helps families and business owners protect what they're building — merging health and wealth into a single plan. Recognized with a 40 Under 40 Visionaries Award, she has presented at the Texas STEM Conference, delivered medical aid in Uganda with the Global Aid Network, and advocates for public-health reform through the Mayor's Star Council of Dallas.
